Arrest warrant against Channi’s nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey

    On Wednesday, during the hearing of illegal sand mining, former CM Charanjit Channi’s nephew, Bhupinder Singh Honey, issued arrest warrants against Honey’s partner and co-accused Kudaratdeep Singh. Court-ordered Kudaratdeep Singh to appear in the court on May 27 to stand trial.

    The charge sheet has already been filed in the case by the ED against both the accused, Honey and Lovie, in the court of special judge, Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA)-cum-District Session Judge Rupinderjit Chahal.

    On April 13 ED had also questioned Channi in this case for several hours in its office in Jalandhar and the warrants of arrest were issued on May 9.

    Last month both the accused were charged under Sections 3 (offense of money laundering), 4 (punishment for money laundering), 44 (offense triable by special courts), and 45 (offenses to be cognizable and non-bailable).

    Out of the two main accused, in this case, Honey is already in jail and is appearing on the dates, while Kudratdeep Singh could not be arrested. Last week the court rejected the bail of both the accused.
