NEW DELHI: In today’s hearing The Supreme Court refused to entertain a petition seeking the reduction of the qualifying percentile for admissions to BDS courses as per the NEET-BDS 2021 exam.
Earlier, the court ordered the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to consider decreasing the cut-off percentile as requested by the Dental Council of India.
However, the Union stuck to its decision that need not be reduced and rejected the request made by the DCI to decrease the cut-off percentile by 10 percentile.
In an affidavit filed today, the Centre informed the counseling for BDS course commenced on January 17 and concluded on May 15 2022 and classes commenced on February 14, 2022. The Centre further said that the NEET-UG 2022-23 is scheduled to take place on July 17.
