Court remanded former MLA PC George to 14 days judicial custody

KERALA: Today, Magistrate Court in Thiruvananthapuram, remanded former MLA PC George to 14 days of judicial custody. He was alleged anti-Muslim hate speech. Following that, he was taken to the Poojappura Central Jail.

The court informed that they will seek his custody and the Court will consider the plea on the next date i.e. May 30. Yesterday the Court canceled the bail granted to George in the case noting that he had violated a bail condition by making another hate speech.

Following that, the police arrested him yesterday night. The case relates to the statements made by George at Ananthapuri Hindu Maha Sammelan where he claimed that tea served at Muslim-run restaurants is mixed with adulterants causing impotency to people. He also made an appeal to boycott Muslim businesses.

The Kerala High Court on Tuesday granted interim anticipatory bail to George in the second case.
