The Delhi High Court issued summons to former Union Minister and serving Member of Parliament Maneka Gandhi in a defamation case by the Indian Veterinary Association claiming that she abused and threatened doctors.
Justice Amit Bansal passed the order on Tuesday. The time period of 1 month is given to her to file the written statement. The suit was filed in relation to an incident from June last year when an audio clip surfaced in which Gandhi could be heard using threatening and using abusive language against veterinarians. The clip was shared widely on social media.
in an audio clip she said – “What does your father do? Is he a gardener or a chowkidar? Are you even literate?” .
