DELHI: Today, The Delhi High Court issued notice to the Delhi Police on the bail appeal of Mohammed Saleem Khan, He was alleged in Delhi Riot’s larger conspiracy case, 2020.

A Bench was held by Justices Mukta Gupta and Mini Pushkarna issued a notice on the bail plea of Mohd. Saleem Khan and Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad accepted the notice on behalf of the Delhi Police. The next date of hearing is on 20th July.

The main counsel for the petitioner Advocate Mujeeb Ur Rehman, told the Court today that Khan has been in jail for the last two years, and the only evidence against him is CCTV footage which was not conclusive. Later, he added that some other accused had already been granted bail in the matter despite the fact that his client’s alleged role is very minor compared to that of others.

Informing the court, he was arrested by the Delhi Police on March 13, 2020, and was named in three First Information Reports (FIRs). He has been charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
