Home Minister Amit Shah speaks upon Common Civil Code

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said a big thing on Friday (22 April 2022) amid the ongoing debate on the Common Civil Code (UCC) in the country. He said ”After Uniform Civil Code Act will be implemented in BJP ruled states.

He said this during a meeting with the core committee at the party office in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Uttarakhand, a draft is being prepared to implement UCC as a pilot project.

Regarding different caste in society, he has clearly said that now it is the reality of the country. Therefore, by multiplying it, the leader of every caste will have to be given a position and importance. During this, Home Minister Shah also said that before the elections, Rahul Gandhi will become the President of Congress, but this will lead to the Congress going down further.

Uttrakhand CM’s Announcement

Ahead of the assembly elections, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had said that a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) would be implemented in the state if the BJP returned to power. CM Dhami had said, “Just after the oath-taking, the new BJP government will constitute a committee, which will prepare a draft of ‘Uniform Civil Code’ in the state.”

After the BJP’s return to power, CM Dhami has also moved ahead in the direction of fulfilling his promise. After taking oath as the Chief Minister again, CM Dhami has convened a cabinet meeting to set up a high-level committee to implement the Uniform Civil Code.

CM Dhami had said that according to the new UCC coming in the state, similar laws will be applicable regarding marriage, divorce, land property, and will. There will be uniform laws for all classes. He had said, “UCC will be a step towards realizing the dream of those who framed our Constitution. At the same time, it will make the spirit of our constitution more concrete.
