MUMBAI: Mumbai Session court rejected the Temporary bail of  Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik but give permission to get treatment at a Private Hospital. Justice RN Rokade refused to grant temporary medical bail to Malik. He was charged under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA)

The Court also give permission to one of Malik’s daughters to remain present at the time of treatment.

The judge also questioned Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials for not taking Malik to a doctor who had been treating his condition since the beginning.

The directions by the Court came in a temporary bail application filed by Malik,

In the bail application, he was seeking release from the Arthur Road Jail for six weeks where he is lodged in a money-laundering case involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The accused was taken to JJ hospital for a medical checkup, however, he was discharged and was taken back to Arthur Road prison. Malik filed an application for release on Friday through the law firm Rashmikant & Partners.

In response, ED opposed the application stating that since Malik had already been transferred to a government hospital which is considered the best hospital for treatment, transfer to a private hospital would not be required.
