NEW DELHI: Sharjeel Imam has moved to Delhi’s Court seeking interim bail in an FIR against him involving the offense of Sedition under section 124A of the Indian Penal Code, in view of the recent Supreme Court order wherein the sedition law has been kept in stay till the Central Government reconsiders the provision.
Imam was arrested by the Delhi Police. The FIR relates to the alleged inflammatory speeches made by him in Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia area in Delhi against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
