MATHURA:Â National Treasurer of All India Hindu Mahasabha, Dinesh Kaushik, moved an application in the Mathura Local Court seeking a ban on the use of loudspeakers for azan in Mathura’s Shahi Idgah Mosque.
Earlier, moved an application before a local court in Mathura seeking permission to perform purification rituals inside the Shahi Idgah mosque. The application states that the use of a loudspeaker for azan in Idag is infringing the constitutional right of the Sanatani Hindus.
Mathura’s Shahi Idgah Masjid is located near the Krishna Janmabhoomi, which is believed to be the birthplace of the Krishna.
Plaintiff also said that the fundamental rights of the people residing near the Shahi Idagh Mosque are being infringed and therefore, a direction should be issued to the District Magistrate to ban the use of the loudspeaker during an Azan.
