Soon Population Control Law coming in India, Says Union Minister Prahlad Patel

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said that a population control law will be brought into the country soon. He made the statement at the ‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan’ held at ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management in Raipur.

Patel made the remarks on being asked by reporters about a law on population control. In Reply, he said, “It will be brought soon, don’t worry. When such strong and big decisions have been taken then the rest too”.

Population control has been debated for years in Parliament. The two-child policy has been tabled around 35 times since Independence. Recently, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said that with awareness campaigns the government has achieved population control and that there was no need for a law.
